This report describes the prevalent methanol production technologies, provides profiles of major licensors, and presents process descriptions for their licensed technologies. Production economics for USGC, Western Europe, Middle East, and China are analyzed for four gas-based technologies and a coal-based methanol plant. An overview of methanol consumption, capacity, and trade is provided for global and major regional markets.
