This leaflet shall apply to electric and combustion-engined motive power units and driving trailers used in international traffic. The present leaflet sets the rules concerning fire precautions and therefore refers in several instances to the provisions of UIC Leaflet 564-2 . Points 1 and 3 to 5 are of a recommendatory nature for vehicles built before 1 January 1983.
