wheelset is an assembly consisting of an axle with two complete wheels together with other component parts such as brake discs, gear wheels, etc. This UIC leaflet defines the characteristics of press-shrunk or hot-shrunk assembly of solid-core wheels, wheel plates, tyred wheels and other component parts on axles. It also specifies assembly tolerances as well as inspection and delivery conditions.
