This edition is the sixth interpretive report issued by the Committee on Dynamic Analysis and Testing. A summary is presented of past PVRC research, active research and an evaluation of six future research areas of technical importance to the pressure vessel industry. The six areas are: 1) seismic engineering, 2) pressure transients, 3) fluid-structure interaction, 4) dynamic behavior of metals, 5) flow distribution and 6) polymer pipes and components. Prior editions of the report summarize the state-of-the-art progress made and include comprehensive lists of applicable references in the areas identified. New technical issues are added and discussed. Specific research topics are recommended and prioritized to reflect the current industry needs.
