This report analyzes developments in bio-based n­butanol technologies. n-Butanol derived from bio-based materials can be used as is in the conventional n-butanol market, converted into a number of chemical products, or used as a transportation fuel additive. This study assesses the technical, commercial, and economic aspects of producing n-butanol via bio-based sources.
